Best Mountain Bike Gloves

Some bikers prefer not to wear gloves. After years of riding, your hands will become accustomed to the abuse, and they will toughen up and form callouses. That said, many riders choose to wear biking gloves, especially if they like mountain biking (which is typically more intense than road biking). There are lots of different types of gloves out there – some are expensive and some are pretty cheap. No matter what your budget, style or preferences are, you should have no problem finding the perfect bike gloves for your needs.

To help you sort through all the different gloves out there, we’ve compiled a list of our favorites:

Giro Bravo Cycling Glove

This is a relatively inexpensive pair of bike gloves that comes in a bunch of different colors and sizes. The Giro Bravo Cycling Glove is unisex, so it can be worn by men or women bikers. It costs between $17.99 – $29.95 on Amazon.com, which is very reasonable. It has great customer reviews – only two people have bought the gloves and left negative reviews. If you want a basic, no-nonsense bike glove, the Giro Bravo Cycling Glove is certainly a safe bet.

Oakley Men’s Factory Bike Glove

As you can tell by the name, the Oakley Men’s Factory Bike Glove are made specifically for men. This doesn’t mean women can’t wear them, but they are designed for a man’s hand. Like everything made by Oakley, these bike gloves are stylish. They come in black, red, grey, blue and yellow. You can order them in different sizes, although sometimes certain sizes are out of stock.

There aren’t many customer reviews for the Oakley Men’s Factory Bike Glove, but the ones that are there are very positive. In fact, there aren’t any bad reviews for these cycling gloves. If you are looking for something with style, these might be perfect for you.

Giro DJ Mountain Biking Gloves

The Giro DJ Mountain Biking Gloves are, as you may have guessed, made specifically for mountain biking. This means they’re thick and tough. Like the Oakley’s, these are some stylish bike gloves. They come in a bunch of different colors, and each color has it’s own patterns and designs. The actual material used to make the glove is lightweight and durable, and it absorbs moisture – which is great for those long, hot rides.

Giro Rivet Full-Fingered MTB Cycling Glove

Also made by Giro, the Giro Rivet Full-Fingered MTB Cycling Glove are another great pair of mountain biking gloves. They are lightweight but durable, and they cover your entire hand. They fit tightly, so you won’t have extra material getting in the way between your hands and the handle bars. Because of this, you may want to “size up” when you order these gloves to avoid getting something too small.

The Giro Rivet Full-Fingered MTB Cycling Gloves have 4/5 stars on Amazon.com. Click here to read the reviews for yourself.

Pearl Izumi Men’s Select Glove

Unlike several of the other gloves we’ve reviewed, the Pearl Izumi Men’s Select Glove is not full-fingered. This means that the glove is cut off and leaves your fingers uncovered and bare. Some people prefer this to a full-fingered glove because it allows them to grip their handle bars and “feel” the bike better. It’s really just a matter of preference, but given the large number of positive reviews on Amazon.com for these bike gloves, they seem to work very well. Sorry ladies, but the Pearl Izumi Men’s Select Glove is made specially for men.

Fox Head Men’s Bomber Glove

The Fox Head Men’s Bomber Glove are made for bikers and motorcyclists alike, so you know they are tough. They have extra padding everywhere, especially around the knuckles, and they can take any abuse you throw at them. In my opinion, they look really cool and are great for the extreme mountain bikers out there. If you are a commuter or casual weekend rider, the Fox Head Men’s Bomber Glove are probably overkill. Check out the customer reviews right here.

Fox Head Men’s Dirtpaw Glove

The Fox Head Men’s Dirtpaw Glove is another bad*** mountain biking glove from Fox Head. It has a near perfect rating on Amazon.com, which means that actual bikers who bought this gloves are loving them. They come in a ton of different colors and styles, so you can definitely find one that fits your style and personality. The Fox Head Men’s Dirtpaw Glove is flexible, simple, tough and surprisingly not very expensive. Check them out.

Bicycle gloves can make your ride much more enjoyable, and now that you know where to find the best cycling gloves, you just need to order them. If you have any questions about which type of glove is right for you or about any specific brands, feel free to leave a comment below.
